Permissionless bridging is now live
October 23, 2024

Uniswap users can now bridge across nine networks directly from the Uniswap Interface and Uniswap Wallet. In-app bridging is one of our most requested features, and we’re excited to roll it out as a step toward our long-term vision of cross-chain swaps.

The future is multi-chain

Today, over six million Uniswap users swap on multiple chains. At Uniswap Labs, we’re committed to making sure these users have access to smooth, seamless bridging across chains.

Until now, moving assets between chains has been challenging. It required using external bridges, dealing with unfamiliar interfaces, and waiting for long transaction times. Plus, there’s always uncertainty about the security of different bridging services.

Intents-based, permissionless bridging powered by Across Protocol

Bridging in Uniswap Labs products is powered by Across Protocol. Across is the only cross-chain intents protocol in production today, providing fast, secure cross-chain transactions to users.

Unlike other bridges, Across is a permissionless bridge that operates through a decentralized network of liquidity pools and relayers. This system enables fast, secure bridging that settles in seconds, not minutes.

How to bridge directly from Uniswap

At launch, bridging will be available for Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, OP Mainnet, Zora, Blast, World Chain, and ZKsync. Only native assets (e.g., ETH on Ethereum or ARB on Arbitrum) and stablecoins will be supported for bridging. To begin using in-app bridging:

  1. Open Uniswap Interface or Uniswap Wallet
  2. Navigate to the swap modal
  3. Choose the asset you want to bridge (e.g. ETH or USDC)
  4. Navigate to “Swap across networks” and choose the output network
  5. Confirm your transaction

Looking ahead

At Uniswap Labs, we’re committed to building products for the multi-chain world. As we continue to build out new features, we aim to provide users with seamless cross-chain experiences. Start exploring these features, including bridging, today by downloading the Uniswap Wallet or visiting the Uniswap Interface.
