DeFi should be easy to use. Today, we’re rolling out four updates across Uniswap apps that make it easier to get started, track your portfolio, and swap across chains.
With these updates, you can create a wallet in seconds directly from the Uniswap Web App, track profit and loss across your tokens, see the same token across multiple networks as one combined balance, and swap from one chain to another in a single action, without a separate bridge step.
Create a wallet in seconds
Whether you’re new onchain or just want a fresh wallet for swapping, you can spin up a wallet in a few clicks using FaceID, TouchID, or a passkey. Pick a username, select your login method, and you're done.
- Open app.uniswap.org and select Get started (or Connect if you have previously used Uniswap products)
- Choose Create Account
- Pick a username
- Select your login method (passkey, FaceID, or TouchID)
Behind the scenes, this wallet infrastructure is powered by Privy. It is designed for fast signing across a globally distributed system. Key material is distributed rather than stored in one place, sensitive operations run inside cryptographically verifiable environments, and configurable signing rules help keep wallet activity within defined constraints. Uniswap Labs cannot access your keys or assets.
Sign in across devices
In-App Wallet works across browsers and devices, just login on any device to access your wallet. If you're authenticated with a device-specific login (like FaceID or TouchID), you can add other methods like Google, Apple, or email for easy access no matter what device you’re using.
We’ve also made it simple to add your account to the Uniswap Wallet and Uniswap Extension. Just select I already have a wallet at onboarding and select Log in.
Export your seed phrase any time
Easy onboarding doesn’t have to come at the cost of self-custody. You can export your seed phrase from settings whenever you want.
- Select Settings on app.uniswap.org while you are logged in
- Click Recovery phrase
- Proceed with Continue on web
- Select View recovery phrase
- Sign in to your wallet
- Click Show
Note: when you show your recovery phrase, make sure you are in a safe location. If anyone sees this recovery phrase (also called a seed phrase), they can use these 24 words to access your account. Please practice caution.
Portfolio tracking
P&L tracking
Profit and loss metrics are now live across the Uniswap Web App, Wallet, and Extension. You can see realized and unrealized P&L for every token, both at the wallet level and per asset.
- Unrealized return: how your current holdings compare to your average cost
- Realized return: profit or loss on positions you've already swapped out of
- Total return: unrealized plus realized return
- Average cost: the average price you paid across your buys of a given token
Cost basis is calculated from your swap history. For tokens received by transfer, the app uses the token's price at the time of receipt.
Multichain portfolio view
Tokens you hold on multiple networks now group into a single row, making your portfolio easier to understand across chains. That means ETH, USDC, or any other tokens you hold on multiple networks shows as one combined balance.
The same grouping applies in Explore, Token Detail Pages, and Search. Select any token to see per-network balances alongside volume and price data.
Crosschain swaps
Sometimes the token you have is on one network, and the token you want is on another. Historically, that meant bridging first, waiting for funds to arrive, and then swapping separately. These multi-step, multi-transaction flows make it challenging to navigate
Now, you can seamlessly swap tokens across chains in a single action with crosschain routes handled automatically, using Across and the Uniswap Protocol. Crosschain swaps are supported on Ethereum, Unichain, Arbitrum One, Base, Optimism, World Chain, zkSync, Zora, Linea, Soneium, and MegaETH.
