Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 are live on Tempo, a payments-first chain incubated by Stripe and Paradigm, with Visa, Mastercard, Deutsche Bank, and Shopify among its design partners. The Uniswap Protocol, Uniswap API, Web App, and Wallet all support Tempo, along with a new pay-with-any-token skill for Tempo's Machine Payments Protocol.
How swaps work on Tempo
Tempo is purpose-built for stablecoin payments: sub-second finality, 100K+ TPS, and stablecoin-denominated gas. Its architecture includes a stablecoin DEX built into the chain for stable-to-stable pairs like USDC.e to USDT0. For all other types of assets, Uniswap serves as the liquidity layer.
Whether you're swapping in the Uniswap Web App, Wallet, or building with the API, Tempo's liquidity is available in a single swap through Uniswap products. Stablecoin swaps settle onchain on Tempo’s native DEX and everything else settles on Uniswap Protocol. Under the hood, an aggregator hook wraps Tempo's stablecoin DEX as a set of v4 pools, so both liquidity sources are available for users.
This is the first live deployment of aggregator hooks, a v4 primitive that can turn any external liquidity source into a Uniswap pool. Aggregator hooks will go live on more chains and with support for more liquidity sources soon.
Pay with any token skill
Tempo is launching with the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP), a new standard for agent-to-agent payments. Users or agents may not always hold the token that a 402 challenge requires, and this new pay-with-any-token skill allows them to easily swap into one of the tokens required and complete the payment.

When an agent hits a 402 payment challenge for a token it doesn't have, the skill swaps into the required token via the Uniswap API and retries the payment. A free API key from the Uniswap Developer Platform is all that's needed to get started. To use the skill: npx skills add uniswap/uniswap-ai --skill pay-with-any-token.
Start building with Uniswap
The Uniswap API supports Tempo at launch. Gas estimation, slippage, and routing across both Tempo's stablecoin DEX and Uniswap v4 pools are covered in a single API call. If you've already integrated the API, Tempo just works. If you're starting fresh, a single integration gives you access to liquidity across 18+ chains, including Tempo. There are no upfront costs and no per-trade fees to use the API, so it stays free as you scale.
