Unichain is moving to OP Enterprise to prepare for native interoperability across the OP Stack. Testnet migrates October 13, and mainnet follows in late October. Chain ID, contracts, balances, and apps stay the same, and so do Uniswap v2, v3, and v4 deployments.
The upgrade extends Optimism's programmable financial infrastructure to Unichain. Once interop is live, users will be able to move assets, starting with ETH, between Unichain and other OP Stack chains without a bridge.
What stays the same
For Unichain users, nothing changes. Unichain remains a Stage 1 rollup with permissionless fault proofs, and contract upgrades sit under Optimism Governance and the Security Council, as they do today.
From the operator side, Optimism runs the production stack: sequencers across mainnet and testnet, RPC, monitoring, and incident response.
What’s next
With this upgrade, users will get first access to native interop and OP Stack releases as they ship. Mainnet migrates on October 29.
